The playoffs are in full swing round1 had a lot of action.  The matchups for the second round should make it even better than the first round.  The matchups are Capitol vs penguins and The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Bruins Semifinal #1 Washington Capitals vs Pittsburgh Penguins  This semifinal matchup between the caps and pens has become a tradition as of late these teams have met in the second round for the past 3 years.  All three matchups have been extremely close and competitive just like when they go at in the regular season.  The Washington Capitals are coming off of a first round battle against the Blue Jackets.  They won it in six games after going down 2-0 in the series in the first 2 games.  They fought back and won the next four straight. The Pittsburgh Penguins are also coming off of a series that was back and forth.  Thier opponent was the Philadelphia Flyers.  In this series, the Penguins picked up wins in games 1,3,4 and 6 to move on to the second round.

Flyers Vs Penguins  The Pittsburgh Penguins are back to back Stanley Cup champions.  This year the success has continued this year.  They are in the second position in the metropolitan and have a great chance of going far this year. Thier Opponent the Philadelphia Flyers have had an up and down season.  They got into the playoffs on the last day of the regular season with a 5-0 win over the New York Rangers. The Flyers have had an up in down season at their lowest they lost 10 straight games.  The reason for the turn around is the goaltending Brian Elliot and Peter Marazik have been phenomenal down the stretch. My Prediction This matchup will be great Both teams are playing well.  Although the Pens swept the Flyer in the regular season the playoffs are a different time.  If the Flyers come out hard and overtake the penguin's energy then they can win the season.  My prediction is FLYERS WIN IN 7 GAMES.  Let's GO FLYERS. The NHL playoffs get underway on Wednesday.This is a preview of the First round of matchups. western Conference  Nashville Predators VS.  Colorado Avalanche  The first matchup features the 2017 western conference champions Nashville predators fracing a team that is returning to the playoffs for the first time since 2014.  They are in the second wild card and look to play spoiler. The Nashville Predators are the top seed in the west and have home ice advantage throughout the playoffs.  This is a big improvement from last year.  Last Year they where the second wild card and they went to the Stanley Cup Finals. My Prediction  I'm interested To see how this series will play out 2 young teams.  One with lots of experience the other with not a lot of experience.  I think in the end it will be Nashville winning this in 6 Winnipeg Jets Vs.
